Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The successful candidate will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Key Responsibilities
1. _Kitchen Operations_: Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and plating.
2. _Staff Management_: Supervise and train kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and other support staff.
3. _Menu Planning_: Assist in menu planning and development, including creating new recipes and menus.
4. _Inventory Management_: Manage inventory levels, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed.
5. _Quality Control_: Ensure high-quality dishes are presented to customers, adhering to presentation and plating standards.
6. _Health and Safety_: Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Requirements
1. _Experience_: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role.
2. _Qualifications_: Culinary degree or certification, or equivalent experience.
3. _Skills_: Excellent knife skills, cooking techniques, and presentation skills.
4. _Knowledge_: Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
Desirable Qualifications
1. _Certifications_: Certification in food safety, sanitation, or a related field.
2. _Experience with Menu Management Software_: Experience with menu management software and inventory management systems.
3. _Knowledge of Special Diets_: Knowledge of special diets, including gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian.
